April is National Poetry Month and Second Chance Month … We are merging the two and holding space for the stories, art, and experiences of those who understand what it means to live and exist inside of a system that tried to kill you. This is for those of us who understand that we can’t incarcerate our way into public safety and community care. This is also for those of us who have caused harm and made amends. This is for the people that have been labeled a FELON as a means to invalidate their value and mark them defective or dangerous for life.
